Thumbnail Maker
YouTubeDesign a YouTube-ready thumbnail in your browser: background colour or your own image, bold headline text with an outline, and a PNG export at exactly 1280 x 720.
Everything happens in your browser. Your image is never uploaded.

What this does
A thumbnail editor that covers the design most videos actually need: a strong background, one or two lines of large outlined text, exported as a PNG at exactly 1280 x 720, which is the size YouTube recommends. Your own photo can be the background, and it is fitted to fill the frame without being stretched.
Why the text has an outline
A thumbnail is mostly seen at the size of a postage stamp, next to twenty others. Text survives that only when it contrasts with everything behind it, and a black outline is the one trick that works over any background, which is why nearly every large channel uses it. The outline here scales with the text size so it never looks like a sticker.
Keeping it readable
Three to five words beat a sentence. YouTube overlays the video duration in the bottom right corner, so anything placed there will be covered. And checking the design at a small size before uploading catches most problems: shrink the browser window or step back from the screen, and if the headline still reads, it works.
Nothing is uploaded
The whole editor runs in your browser on a canvas element. The image you choose never leaves your device, and the PNG is produced locally when you press download.
