Copyright and Content Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026. This policy applies to everything on A2Z Video Tools.

The short version

Use these tools with content you own, content in the public domain, or content you have permission to use. Nothing here is built to get around a restriction someone has deliberately put in place, and nothing here will help with that.

Content you may use these tools with

• Video you created or recorded yourself.
• Video you uploaded to a platform and have retrieved through that platform's own export or download feature.
• Content in the public domain, where no copyright restrictions remain.
• Content under an open licence, such as Creative Commons, where you meet the conditions of that specific licence.
• Content you have licensed, including stock footage, within the terms of the licence you bought.
• Content the rights holder has given you permission to use, ideally in writing.

What you must not use them for

• Infringing copyright, or helping anyone else to.
• Circumventing digital rights management or any other technical protection measure.
• Getting around paywalls, authentication, access controls or geographic restrictions.
• Accessing private content, or content behind an account that is not yours.
• Redistributing someone else's work without the permission needed to do so.
• Anything unlawful where you are.

Why the line sits here

Two reasons, and the second is the less obvious one.

The first is that copying someone's work without permission is a wrong to a real person, usually one who is not in a position to do much about it. Creators put download restrictions on their work for ordinary reasons, and those decisions are theirs to make.

The second is that circumventing a technical protection measure is separately unlawful in many countries, including under the DMCA in the United States and equivalent provisions elsewhere. That means it can be an offence even in circumstances where the underlying copy might have been permitted. It is a distinct legal question, and one that a lot of tools in this space quietly ignore.

What this site does not do

A2Z Video Tools does not host user-uploaded video, does not fetch content from other websites on your behalf, does not log into any service, and has no upload endpoint at all. The tools operate on files already on your own device, in your own browser.

The articles about saving video deliberately point at official export features, creator-enabled downloads, open licences and public domain archives, because those are the routes that actually work and are actually permitted.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for having the rights or permission needed for any content you process, and for complying with the law where you are and with the terms of any platform involved. This site cannot know what you are working with, and does not try to.

Reporting a problem

If you believe material published here infringes your copyright, the copyright and DMCA page explains what a notice needs and provides a form for submitting one. Notices are read and acted on.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will not be made quietly.
