Black Hole A2Z — Android Video Utility

What it does

Black Hole A2Z is a media utility for a phone. It handles the ordinary jobs that are awkward on Android: saving a video into the gallery where other apps can find it, keeping a list of what you have saved, and joining separate picture and sound files into one playable video, which is how higher quality material often arrives.

What it is for

The same boundary applies as everywhere else on this site. The app is for content you own, content in the public domain, and content you have permission to use. It does not circumvent digital rights management, paywalls, authentication or access controls, and it is not built to.

Privacy

There is no account and no sign-in. The app keeps its list of saved files on the device and nowhere else. There is no server holding a history of what anyone has done with it.

Installing it

1. Download the file using the button on this page.
2. Android will ask whether to allow installing from this source, because the file is not coming from an app store. That prompt is normal and you can revoke the permission afterwards.
3. Open the downloaded file and confirm the installation.
4. Later versions can be installed from within the app, which checks for updates itself.

• 64-bit ARM devices, which covers essentially every Android phone sold since 2017
• Around 21MB of storage for the app itself
• Space for whatever you save, which is usually the larger figure

What it does not do

• It is not available for iPhone or iPad.
• It does not circumvent protection measures or access controls.
• It cannot make content available that its source does not permit.
• It does not convert or re-encode video.
