Black Hole A2Z release history

Current version is 1.2.2. Only releases that actually shipped are listed, with the changes that were actually made.

  1. Version 1.2.2

    15 August 2026

    Current

    • Saved files now go straight into the device gallery, in an album of their own, instead of staying in the app's private folder.
    • Fixed a naming fault that stopped single-file saves reaching the gallery at all.
    • Added a Save to gallery control for anything that did not make it across, including files saved by earlier versions.
    • Removed the share sheet fallback from the open action, which turned opening a file into a manual save.
    • Stopped an unnecessary permission prompt from blocking saves on Android 10 and newer, where the permission is not required.
  2. Version 1.2.1

    15 August 2026

    • Fixed a fault where requests sent from the app lost part of their session details on Android, which made some sources fail on the phone while working elsewhere.
    • Restored the build settings that keep the download around 20MB.
    • Error messages now say which stage failed instead of reporting everything as unavailable.
  3. Version 1.2.0

    15 August 2026

    • Added support for further sources.
    • Improved quality selection so higher resolutions are offered with sound where the source provides them separately.
    • In-app update checking, so new versions can be installed without hunting for a link.
  4. Version 1.1.0

    15 August 2026

    • Reworked saving to write through the system media store, so files appear where other apps can find them.
    • Accepting a link shared from another app, rather than requiring it to be pasted.
  5. Version 1.0.0

    13 August 2026

    • First release.

Versions between those listed were small fixes not worth a separate entry. The app checks for updates itself, so there is normally no need to return here to stay current. About the app.
